A row of round stones runs along the front of the hoop, each one held in prongs it shares with its neighbours, so the metal between them almost disappears and the stones read as one continuous line of light. The back half of the hoop is left as polished metal with open scalloped cutouts, which keeps the weight off the lobe. The hoop opens on a hinge and clicks shut behind the ear.
